MICROSOFT AUTHORIZED Technical Education Centers are showing relatively little concern over any negative business impact from the antitrust suit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice and states attorneys general against Microsoft Corp.
But ATECs that rely on providing desktop training are more likely to be impacted by the potential delay of Windows 98 than others offering either a combination of public and private technical training courses or mainly private corporate instruction, said several industry executives.
The interest in Microsoft technical training and the lack of skilled IT professionals on the market most likely will offset any potential delay in training surrounding future Microsoft releases, said John Peco, vice president of operations with Knowledge Alliance, Greenwich, Conn.
