Company: Tibco, the Palo Alto-based web services and software company, with $319 million in sales in 2001 and about 1,000 employees.
Background: Ranadive worked as an engineer and a manager at Ford Motor Co., M/A-Com Linkabit and Fortune Systems before founding a UNIX consulting company. He went on to found Tibco in 1985, and last year wrote "The Power of Now: How Winning Companies Sense and Respond to Change Using Real-time Technology."
