NextCard Inc., an Internet-only credit card issuer, is tapping into an old-line credit card tactic - higher fees and ancillary products.
By moving its bank charter from California to Arizona this year, the San FranCisco-based company is able to charge higher late fees and over-limit fees that are more in line with other credit card issuers, said President John Hashman.
In addition, the company recently introduced a debtdeferment product which Hashman said has been "wellreceived."
The moves segue into rosier profit forecasts for NextCard - the company bumped up its break-even date from first-quarter 2002...
