At BankAtlantic's Internet division, the computers need to be fast just to keep track of the products and services being added.
Pending products at BankAtlantic.com include online approval of credit card applications, cash management for businesses and online applications for business loans.

BankAtlantic moved ahead of most competitors in May, when it became one of the first banks nationally to announced safe deposit-like storage of documents on the Internet. The service began last month.

"We see the Internet as a terrific opportunity to provide additional convenience, any time of day or night, for customers who use our branches and ATMs," he said. "It is a new service for customers who might not want to use our branches on a regular basis."
Scott Valentin, an analyst at brokerage firm Friedman, Billings & Ramsey in Arlington, Va., said BankAtlantic appears to be doing a lot of the right things on the Internet."
BankAtlantic began advertising and promoting its site (www.bankatlantic.com) in April.
At the Aug. 17 annual shareholders meeting of parent BankAtlantic Bancorp (NYSE: BBX), chairman and CEO Alan Levan said the Internet division had brought in $70 million in deposits between April and August.
"We are substantially higher now, in terms of our number of online accounts and dollars, and we have had success both inside and outside Florida," said Jarett Levan, son of the company chairman.
