On a roll from its March launch in South America, Argentine online insurance aggregator SegurosDirect.com (Buenos Aires) is gearing up to enter the North American market.
Between March and July, SegurosDirect.com received over 250,000 quote requests and registered over 10,000 clients. The aggregator offers auto, life and home insurance products in Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico and Brazil.
A privately owned company, SegurosDirect will differ from online insurance aggregators currently serving US consumers in that it will specifically target Spanish speakers. Its strategy is to gain a foothold by marketing in Puerto Rico and the five states with the greatest concentration of Spanish speakers: Florida, California, New York, Illinois and Texas. SegurosDirect will thus have the potential to reach 90 percent of the 32 million-strong Spanish-speaking population.
