Primus Telecommunications Group has been racking up partnerships and acquisitions to increase its international telecom and Internet presence - activity that may allow the McLean-based company to break the $1 billion revenue mark by the end of the year.
On July I Primus announced its purchase of Telegroup, an international long-distance carrier based in Coralville, Iowa. Along with Telegroup's existing customer base of 350,000, Primus will pick up the company's switches and other telecom resources in Germany, France and other countries.
The Telegroup acquisition came on the heels of Primus' launch of iPrimus.com an Internet and data service aimed overseas.
