Description: The Handspring Visors are a family of hand-held, stylus-controlled computers running the Palm Operating System that feature hardwarebased expandability via Handspring's Springboard technology. The Visor Platinum and Visor Edge are Handspring's medium- to high-end monochrome, palm-size computing devices.

Both the Visor Edge and the Visor Platinum come with Palm Operating System (OS) version 3.5.2, the Palm Desktop, and the HotSync Manager for sharing information between the handheld and a desktop computer.
The built-in software includes a date book, address book, to-do list, memo pad, calculator, expense tracker, and e-mail program.
Warranty: One-year limited warranty on parts and labor is included in the purchase price. An extended warranty for 12 additional months, including a one-time replacement of the screen, is available from Handspring for $49.99 for the Edge, $39.99 for the Platinum. Installation: A well-designed and easy-to-follow "start-here" card packaged with the Visor gets the device up and running in very short order. Step one is to power up the handheld. With the Platinum, that involves installing two AAA batteries. With the Edge, the combination synchronization/recharging cradle must be plugged in to charge up the battery. Both cradles are then connected to an available USB port on your desktop PC or Macintosh.
The software installation and setup program is equally straightforward. Simply insert the provided CD-ROM and follow the clear, detailed instructions on how to proceed at each step.
