Description: The Intel Play QX3 Computer Microscope plugs into a Windows 98 computer and projects magnified images onto a computer screen. The school edition includes a CD-ROM with more than 30 lessons for grades K-10, a teacher quick-start guide, and some accessories.
Specifications: The lightweight microscope stands approximately 11 inches high on a 5 x 6-1/2-inch base. The microscope, which can be removed from its black plastic stand, is made from an appealing transparent blue plastic with bright green controls.
Price: $99, suggested retail price
System Requirements: Microsoft Windows 98, along with a 200 MHz or faster processor. Faster is better. Also required: 32 MB RAM, 75 MB free hard drive space, 4x CD-ROM, a 16-bit Windows-compatible sound device, a standard mouse and keyboard, and an 800 x 600 monitor capable of 16-bit color. The computer should be video- and sound-compatible with DirectX. The most important requirement, however, is that the computer must be USB-enabled.
