Abstract

In February [Francois Loos] said electricity users who consume over 2.5 kWh of power per euro of added value to their businesses would be entitled to enter consortia and negotiate competitive long term power contracts of 10- 15 years' duration. Last summer the speculation was that the contracts would help bankroll EDF's first European Pressurized Reactor project at Flamanville. Since then, there has been no explicit mention of industry participation in the project.
