Decor retailer launches media blitz targeting women shoppers
CHICAGO - Sears' Great Indoors plans to roll out seven new stores in 2002, with four of those in new markets. However, this year's expansion is smaller than originally planned; last year, the retailer scaled down the number of new stores from 14 to seven, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. The plans for growth were unveiled by Bob Rodgers, the retailer's president, at a Feb. 7 presentation to members of the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, which held its annual meeting here.
Great Indoors, which now operates 13 stores in seven states, will break into new markets in Houston (where it will open two stores); Washington, D.C. or Gaithersburg, Md.; and Las Vegas.
