Two of the biggest names in Baltimore's food industry, H&S Bakery Inc. and LaFontaine Bleu Catering, are close, to finalizing a deal to develop a 250-room Renaissance Hotel and conference center near Baltimore/Washington International Airport - a complex that, some believe, would give Anne Arundel County a shot at convention business.
John Paterakis Sr., owner of H&S Bakery, and Thomas Stuehler, owner of La Fontaine Bleu and Truffles Catering, have negotiated for about a year over the potential project on a 10-acre site at Md. 295 and West Nursery Road, said Peter N. Yaffe, president of said the catering companies.
