Baltimore clothing executive Danny Gladstone is taking a major step toward increasing the market presence of Marithe and Francois Girbaud jeans and sportswear.
Gladstone's employer, Baltimore-based clothing manufacturer I.C. Isaacs & Co. Inc., opened the first Girbaud "shop-in-shop" July 19 at the highprofile Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan. I.C. Isaacs & Co. has owned the U.S. license for Girbaud, a Parisian designer, since 1998.
The 450-square-foot "shop-in-shop" is similar to the in-store shops that other clothing brands buy space for in department stores. And established brands such as Nautica and Tommy Hilfiger are not the only ones setting...
