A New York-based dot-com paid an undisclosed amount of stock and cash for the domain name of Mom.com, a now defunct Internet portal that targeted mothers, company officials confirmed.
Officials with Clubmom.com Inc., which operates a Web site that targets mothers using a similar strategy to that of Mom.com, said the company purchased Mom.com for a few key reasons. Above all, the domain name was the primary attraction to Mom.com, said Alexandra Aleskovsky. chief marketing officer with ClubMom.com.
