Pizza Hut wants a larger slice.
The Hospitality Restaurant Group, the Traverse City, Mich., owners of 38 regional Pizza Huts, is embarking on an aggressive campaign to strengthen its position in Western New York. The company will be spending nearly $15 million in the next few years on remodeling many of its local sites and opening new locations.
The Hospitality Restaurant Group acquired the local Pizza Huts 18 months ago.
The first sign of the campaign appeared earlier this year when the Pizza Hut on McKinley Parkway in Hamburg got a $350,000 facelift. The outlet features Pizza Hut's new logo and a light, airy interior. The store is a prototype for other regional Pizza Huts.
Next up is the Pizza Hut on Delaware Avenue in Kenmore, which will get a new look and add home delivery service.
