More than a year in the making, a 45-acre soccer complex carved out of farmland has come to life in West Seneca.
The complex, at 3747 Seneca St., extends from just off Seneca Street all the way back to Cazenovia Creek. The cost to develop the land was about $2 million. The site has three parking lots for up to nearly 500 vehicles, an 8,000-square-foot concession area that will include a pro shop, bathrooms and changing space for players. There are two playgrounds and the complex is rimmed by a one-mile walking and biking path. Two portable ice rinks will be frozen in the parking lots and will provide limited year-round use.
One main stadium field that is bermed can offer seating for 2,500 spectators and is equipped for future lighting. There are seven full size fields and 15 smaller fields divided into groups of three and four.
