CHARMED LIFE: Renovation signs may still be up at Harry Winston's Fifth Avenue flagship in Manhattan, but the jeweler is ready to offer a glimpse of its new direction, which aims to snare a broader audience.
While company executives are busy putting together a lower-priced line, the first design to surface is a platinum-and-diamond charm bracelet with icons that range from Harry Winston's logo to a miniature Maltese falcon and ruby slippers.
Each of the seven charms represents a Winston bauble, accented with diamonds, rubies and sapphires. It will be available at Winston boutiques in November. At $15,000, it's not much in the Winston scheme of things, a company spokeswoman quipped.
"I was inspired to create a charm bracelet to celebrate the history of the house of Harry Winston," said chairman Ronald Winston. "I recall how fond my mother was of this bracelet. It was a gift from my father."
