LOS ANGELES -- In the city that is home to Hollywood's pantheon of actors and actresses, a fashion girl is free to be anyone who suits her fancy. Her options this season: the East Coast Brahmin; a Far Eastern mystic; an Eighties throwback and, as always popular in these beachy parts, the chic bohemian.
L.A.'s girl about town, Yohanna Logan, sent out an outstanding collection for Shawn, mixing Nantucket prep with military chic. Pink seersucker Bermuda shorts looked less Waspy and more witty when paired with an army jacket turned hoodie. Elsewhere, the bohemian bad girl got her moment in the sun at Marc Bohbot's True Meaning. Who else would throw a tailored metallic leather blazer over a gauzy white dress or a tan brocade vest over sexy cuffed shorts? The collection was clean and well-styled, except for splashes of orange satin, tied as obis that distracted from and often overpowered a muted palette of sage, champagne and cream.
