PARIS - Baron Elie de Rothschild, scion of the great banking dynasty, a reputed connoisseur and renowned art collector, died Monday near Innsbruck, Austria, according to the local police. He was 90.
A famed bon vivant, Rothschild died after cardiac arrest while vacationing in his Tyrolean hunting lodge, police said. He had reportedly been hunting game with friends. Baron Elie is the second prominent Rothschild to die this summer. Baron Guy de Rothschild, a cousin and the patriarch of the Rothschild family here, died in June at age 98.
