International Business Machines Corp. has agreed to buy Venetica Inc., one of Charlotte's most successful tech firms.
Terms of the deal haven't been disclosed. IBM expects to complete the acquisition by year end.
"We think it's a great opportunity to take our technology and make it go to the moon," says Eric Sall, Venetica's vice president of marketing.
IBM plans to retain Venetica's 70 employees, including 55 in Charlotte, says Jon Prial, an IBM vice president. Venetica founder Stuart Levinson will remain president of the software operation.
