The president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, highlighted on Monday, in the city of Praia, the role of Cape Verde for Olympic values and the success of the country in the organization of the first African Beach Games.
"I congratulate you on the great success in holding recently, under the leadership of the president of the Olympic Committee, the first African Beach Games, which took place in an extraordinary way," said the IOC president, who arrived in Cape On Monday Green for a 24-hour visit, framed in a tour that takes place in African countries.
The African Beach Games, considered the largest sporting event ever held in Cape Verde, took place in June on the island of Sal, with the participation of about 800 athletes from all over the continent.
