Privately held ABC, best known as ABC Warehouse, is a member of the NATM Buying Corp. buying organization. ABC has grown from its founding in 1963 with a single Michigan location to 39 ABC Warehouse superstores, plus 16 Mickey Shorr mobile electronics specialty stores (chain acquired in 1984) and two upscale Hawthorne Appliance outlets (company acquired in 1990). The flagship stores focus on selling consumer electronics and appliances within a "warehouse" concept throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, and since 2001, feature Kitchen Glamor in-store shops for cookware and small kitchen electrics.
