The Ramada lodging chain has two Columbus-area hotels raising its flag while another bearing its name is preparing to go independent.
The Radisson Hotel Columbus North plans to become the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center on March 1. The switch comes after a change in the partnership that owns the 268-room hotel on Sinclair Road and plans for major renovations in early 2000.
Meanwhile, owners of the former Quality Inn-Airport East on East Broad Street switched to the Ramada Inn name Dec. 1, four months after they brought in Bostonbased Berkeley Hotel Management as their management provider.
