Anarchism and bicycles have a lot in common. If you don't believe it, read this book.
Chris Carlsson is the founder (insofar as there is a founder) of "Critical Mass," a movement which began in the San Francisco Bay area in 1992 and has since spread sporadically all over the world. It's hard to define, however. The idea is to assemble a large number of bike riders on a given day to "take back the streets," simply ride through a traffic-congested city to demonstrate that we need not be dependent on oil-and-automotive capitalism and by extension, on the whole late-Western cultural milieu that isolates us from one another and makes us slaves of the corporate and authoritarian hierarchy.
