Abstract

"There was a summer when I was just nuts for the elements," [Tony Isabella] said. He owed that passion for science in no small part to comic book plotlines that intertwined science fact with superhero fiction. Most of the comics on the web site are old, from an era when now-middleaged men such as Isabella, Selegue, and Holler [and the editor of JOM - ed.] were entertained by reading colorful pulp that could be bought for a dime or 12 cents. A few recent publications are represented, though.
