Chicago, Ill. -- Navistar International has restyled its premium conventional trucks as the 9000i series, opening up the cab's interior; adding to overall visibility; and improving heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
The new series consists of the 9100i, 9200i, 9400i, 9900i (the "i" is meant to stand for innovation) and International Eagle 9900ix with its 130-inch BBC. While the 9100i is only available in a day cab configuration, other models will also be available with integrated ProSleeper designs.
"The 9000i represents the most significant change ever made to the 9000 series," group vice-president and general manager Steve Keate proclaimed. And the changes were made to attract those who sit at the wheel. Said truck group president Don DeFosset, "The driver is king, very much, in buying decisions today."
To add to belly room in the cabs, the dashes have been moved forward two inches. There's also an additional inch of headroom in day cab designs.
