Abstract
Inclusive decays of the ϒ(1S) to charmed particles were studied. The inclusive decays to D0, D*+, and [special characters omitted] were observed for the first time along with evidence of the inclusive decay to the [special characters omitted]. The measured inclusive branching ratios are Br(ϒ(1S) → QCD → D0X) = (4.16 ± 0.42 ± 0.50 ± 0.08)%, Br(ϒ(1S) → QCD → D*+X) = (2.07 ± 0.30 ± 0.18 ± 0.04)%, Br(ϒ(1S) → QCD → [special characters omitted]X) = (1.69 ± 0.18 ± 0.23 ± 0.44)%, and Br(ϒ(1S) → QCD → [special characters omitted] X) = (0.80 ± 0.25 ± 0.12 ± 0.14)%. The total inclusive branching ratio to open charmed particles is determined to be Br(ϒ(1S) → QCD → Yc X) = (8.27 ± 1.07 ± 1.56 ± 0.55)% and the branching ratio to total charm is found to be Br(ϒ(1S) → QCD → (cc)X) = (4.31 ± 0.54 ± 0.78 ± 0.28)%.
