Deviating from the original concept of spa, Boston's G-Spa offers clients quick fixes and in-and-out service on the bottom level or a more traditional spa experience upstairs.
THE SAYING "GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL packages" aptly describes G-Spa. The minuscule spa, located on Boston's chic Newbury Street, is the brainchild of spa industry veteran and Boston native Gretchen Monahan. Founder and owner of three Grettacole spas in the Boston area and the Gretta Luxe fashion boutique in Wellesley, MA, Monahan identified a niche market and moved swiftly to fill it. The result is G-Spa, a 2,000-square-foot express spa that caters to a clientele intent on working regular spa visits into their over-scheduled daily routines. Monahan hit on the idea of opening an express spa as a result of her frequent business trips to Europe. Always on the lookout for new and innovative services and fashions to feature in her full-service Grettacole spas and the Gretta Luxe boutique, she was often frustrated by the fact that it was next to impossible to sample a spa service in her limited free time.
