United Defense (UDI) has selected a Lockheed Martin (LMT)- Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) team over Raytheon (RTN) to develop the Long-Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) for the 155mm Advanced Gun System (AGS) that will be fitted to the Navy's future DD(X) destroyers, according to a United Defense spokesman.
"United Defense has selected Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control for the continued development of the Long-Range Land Attack Projectile," United Defense spokesman Jeff Van Keuren yesterday told Defense Daily. "We will shortly be making a contract award and it is anticipated that the approximate value of the contract will be $40 million."
