Britain's Alvis was last week selected for a $300 million order to supply its Hagglunds CV9030 infantry fighting vehicle to Finland, the company said.
Finland is now the fourth country to order the CV90 family of vehicles, following Sweden, where the vehicle was originally built, Norway, and Switzerland (Defense Daily, Sept. 27). However, the Finnish order of 57 vehicles is smaller than the 160 or so that was originally expected.
The Patria Hagglunds joint venture between Finland's Patria Industries and Alvis is the prime contractor for the new order. Alvis' Hagglunds subsidiary in Sweden will have responsibility for manufacture...
