Pi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. recently celebrated its 2020 Founders Day at Nandua Middle School.
The guest speaker was Traci J. DeShazor who currently serves as deputy secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia, a role she was reappointed to in December 2017 by Gov. Ralph Northam.
DeShazor is a government relations professional with a focus on promoting diversity, equity, strategic communications and community engagement.
She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and an active member of the Alpha Phi Omega chapter.
At the Founders Day activity, several members were presented with gold jackets from the Pi Epsilon Omega Chapter signifying that they have been members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for 50 or more years.
