Rising technology star GeoAccess Inc. has merged with a subsidiary of health care information technology heavyweight Ingenix Inc. of Salt Lake City.
The Lenexa-based health care software and Internet service provider finalized the deal with Ingenix Health Intelligence Corp. on June 3, said Paul Weaver, GeoAccess' business development leader.
Merging with Ingenix - a subsidiary of Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE: UNH) - means that GeoAccess has the firepower of a publicly traded company behind it now.
UnitedHealth Group provides managed-care services and health care management products and services.
