Long lines and ill winds have prompted MacDi1I Federal Credit Union to expand its presence in Brandon.
Aside from customers overcrowding its small, two-employee branch on Providence Road, the $640 million institution thought it wise to relocate its highly expensive data processing equipment there, further inland from where they are now.
"We need to move those to higher ground," said Robert Fisher, president of the 119,000member credit union.
MacDill is investing about $7 million in a twobuilding campus on 8.8 acres along Bloomingdale Road in the growing Brandon area, to be completed late next year.
The 20,000-square-foot operations building will house the credit union's data processing and call centers, while a new 6,400-square-foot branch also will occupy the same parcel.
