Anyone who has tried to excel at two unrelated tasks simultaneously can likely relate to the conclusion Charles H. "Trip" Heist came to late last year.
Heist's family business, long known for providing industrial services, tried for the past 22 years to strike a balance with providing staffing services for commercial, clerical and light industrial needs.
"We thought there would be synergies associated with both companies, and that never happened," Heist said.
Therefore, the company made a decision to cut loose the lessprofitable side of the business. That meant shedding the industrial services side - the very foundation of the old C.H. Heist Corp. that dated back at least a half-century.
