The 12-story office building at 1655 Peachtree St., affectionately known as The Peach Building for its signature rooftop peach and peach-colored paint, has been sold, and plans are to redevelop it into condominiums.
Peach LLC, made up of real estate development firms Rama Investments Inc. and Premium Investments LLC, bought the building May 10 from Executive Enterprises. The sale price was $3.8 million.
The new owners plan 75 condo units including six two-story penthouse units, said Gene Lorette, project manager for Peach LLC. The 68,000-square-foot Peach building was built in 1962.
"We like this building for a lot of reasons," said Lorette, who also helped redevelop the Healey office building downtown into condo units. "The footprint of building lends itself to a residential building."
