Ragnar Benson Inc. has been selected by Lucent Technologies Inc. to serve as construction manager for a $250-million-plus expansion of its DuPage County facilities. The 1.2-million-sq-ft addition, designed by Kevin Roche, John Dinkeloo & Associates, includes two new 600,000-sq-ft state-of-the-art office/research buildings, each with two, four-story covered parking garages, holding some 900 cars each. One building will be located on Lucent's Indian Hill main research campus in Naperville and the other across the street on the Network Software Center campus in Lisle. Each building will have two five-story wings with skylit lobbies, an auditorium and meeting rooms. Construction is to start soon and occupancy is expected by early March 2000.
