NEW YORK Gandhi Engineering Inc. has been retained by the New York City Dept. of Transportation, Division of Bridges, to provide engineering services for approximately $43 million worth of improvements to five bridges in Manhattan and the Bronx. The Manhattan structures are the E. 78th St. pedestrian bridge over the FDR Drive and a third of a mile (77 spans) of the Riverside Dr. viaduct crossing the W. 158th St. ramp of the Henry Hudson Parkway. The structures in the Bronx are the City Island Road bridge over Eastchester Bay; the E. 188th St. bridge over the Metro-North Railroad; and the Pelham Parkway bridge over the Hutchinson River Parkway. Gandhi will provide NYCDOT with a range of rehabilitation and replacement options for each structure and total design and construction support services.
