Hollywood actor Jackie Chan will open his first U.S. restaurant at Ala Moana Center.
Jackies-Kitchen Hawaii is slated to open this fall, said Robert Cortes, development partner and general manager of the restaurant
"Jackie loves Hawaii," Cortes said. "He knew that tourism was suffering here after 9-11 [the 2001 terrorist attacks] and felt it would be great to do his part to help bring tourism back."
The approximately 5,000-square-foot restaurant will seat more than 150 customers and be located near Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Mai Tai Bar and California Pizza Kitchen, on the center's third level. It will include a merchandise area with three carts selling Jackie Chan movie memorabilia, T-shirts, stickers and caps.
