(Brazil), skateboarding: The supreme vertical skateboarder on planet Earth? It would be hard to quibble with that assessment of Burnquist, based on the type of year he had in 2001. The 25-year-- old won the vert competitions at the ESPN Summer X Games, and also secured top honors at the Slam City Jam contest and the Red Bull Skate Pro 2001. No less an authority than the legendary Tony Hawk said Burnquist's showing at the Summer X Games was the best vert run ever.
