Abstract

Software is becoming increasingly important as a way of increasing clinical effectiveness and reducing costs in healthcare. Companies need to design robust security and privacy into health software to avoid unauthorized access and disclosure of sensitive data, modification of data, or loss of function. The main purpose of this paper is to present appropriate agile practices and approaches which explicitly allow for a secure-by-design architecture in a healthcare context. Specifically, we show how to apply principles, practices, and patterns from Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in an agile environment to control the design process of health software to build a secure solution.
