In spite of evidence that part-time courses were falling off, polytechnics were not conspiring to give them up or even to cut down on the proportion provided, argued Dr Ray Rickett, the new director of Middlesex Polytechnic, at a conference of the London Joint Training Committee, held at Central London Polytechnic last week.
