Abstract

Palabras-clave: SIG, Residuos sólidos urbanos, Optimización, Rutas, Planificación territorial, Logística, Desarrollo sostenible Abstract: The present work shows a proposal of urban solid waste collection routes for the Ibarra city, using territorial districting concepts to level the workload among the collection trucks and ensure access to the collection service for all residents. In this proposal, 11 micro collection routes are implemented, considering aspects such as waste generation rates, collection frequencies and operational costs of the trucks. The results obtained are contrasted with the model currently established in the canton through indicators of cost per ton collected in each collection route, going from an average cost of 37.53 $/t to an average cost of 8.27 $/t with the present proposal, as well as a balance in the mentioned costs.
