Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque on Monday introduced government's other anti-COVID-19 czars to spearhead the Philippines' response strategy for testing, tracing, isolating, and treating the coronavirus disease in the country.
During the Malacaang media briefing, Roque introduced Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong as "Chief Tracing Czar," Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar as "Chief Isolation Czar," and Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Bong Vega as "Chief Treatment Czar." This is in addition to Secretary Vivencio Vince Dizon who was earlier introduced as "Chief Testing Czar" when the country intensified its testing capacity efforts.
"All four anti-COVID czars will be directly under the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) led by Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr." Roque said.
Our COVID-19 acute testing strategy: more comprehensive targeted testing, more isolation centers, more intense tracing, and more intensive treatment for patients. That is all under the NTF, under our Chief Implementer Secretary Galvez, he added.
The Palace official said government recognizes the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the country and assured the public that the situation can be controlled.
