Abstract
Salik in the term used by Sufiyyato refer to certain rneanings. There are two types of salik, general salik and specific salik. General salik refers to a Muslim who practices the Islamic teaching, while specific salik refers to a Muslim who uses the sufi way to get closer to Allah and to obtain makrifah through riyadah and mujahadah and later on through maqamat and spiritual experience. Majdhub refers to a Muslim who gets makrifah without going through riyadah and mujahadah but solely receiving the blessing from Allah. The existence of these two types of Muslim is acknowledged in tasawwuf.
