Abstract

This thesis explores the relationship between Archetypal Pattern Analysis and The Psychology of Selves, specifically in relation to the formation and stabilization of patterns, the reiterative nature of patterns and the recalcitrant nature of patterns. Also explored is the relationship between Archetypal Pattern Analysis and The Psychology of Selves in relation to The Theory of Bonding Patterns, Unconscious Communication (also known as The Voice of Psyche), and the Objective Psyche in Archetypal Dream Pattern Analysis. Establishing the theoretical grounding for this research and then utilizing Qualitative Case Study Research Methodology to conduct the research, a case study is presented demonstrating the cross-pollination of these two disciplines of study. Reflections are given on how each discipline informs the other along with the insights gained from the research. Also explored is how The Voice Dialogue Method provides an effective approach for individuals to shift out of non-generative patterns in their life and relationships, allowing for the development of healthier, more authentic and creative ways of meeting life’s challenges.
