Michael Schumacher goes into Sunday's San Marino grand prix here at the evocatively named Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit set upon proving that his defeat at the hands of David Coulthard's McLaren-Mercedes 12 days ago in Brazil was a blip on his personal radar screen rather than a seismic shift in the balance of formula one power.
"Certainly the car wasn't working well enough for us to compete in Brazil," said the world champion yesterday. "But there were no specific problems with it and, if we'd maximised our performance, I think the ball could still have bounced for us."
