Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO), World Dental Federation (FDI), and International Association for Dental Research (IADR) suggested that specific values should be considered “with regard of the political, socioeconomic, and legislative context,” leaving the decision about the definite aims of caries prevention programs to the national level in 2003 [5]. [...]according to the ‘Healthy China 2030’ blueprint, one of the aims of caries prevalence programs in China is to reduce dental caries to <25% of the 12-year-old children in 2030. [...]it is the very lack of visibility for molars compared to the anterior teeth, combined with the increased difficulty of cleaning the posterior interdental spaces, which increases the caries risk of FPMs. [...]the prevention of FPM caries plays a critical role during childhood [10]. [...]the OHPP, which encompasses oral health education and pit and fissure sealants for FPMs to prevent FPM caries in China, has been sponsored by the government since 2009 in Zhejiang Province, located in southeast China, with coasts, open plains, and hills. [...]the relationship was estimated between the socio-demographic characteristics and caries prevalence in each FPM, using multiple logistic regression models.
