Abstract
An obituary for Oil and Gas Investor founding photographic editor Lowell Georgia, who died in Feb 2021 at the age of 87, is presented. Before he retired, he had shot every cover story for the magazine for more than 30 years, from the first issue in Aug 1981. He never missed a beat except for a single issue due to health reasons. He traveled to more than 20 countries and photographed every domestic oil and gas play onshore and offshore, creating a unique look for the magazine with original photography. He always knew what would make the best shot and was comfortable asking a helicopter pilot to circle that platform again and again, this time lower please, while he was half hanging out the side door.
