Abstract

This study aims to see the errors of knowledge construction when students solve algebra problems. To get the subject of research conducted exploration to class VII students with given algebra task sheet in the form of analogy. Through Think out load method is enhanced by interview obtained verbal data. The results showed that the characteristics of algebraic construction errors in students include: no analogical reasoning, mistake in assimilation and accommodation, and happened pseudo thinking. In addition, mistakes were found in assimilation and accommodation of relationships and strategies.
