I value your input, your research in everything, we are really appreciative that you are taking time off your schedule to join us. So, welcome to our podcast on critical multiculturalism and children's literature. I am Vivian YenikaAgbaw, one of four JCL coeditors. How about we start by formally introducing ourselves?
MARIA JOSÉ BOTELHO (MJB) Hi, my name is Maria José Botelho and I'm an associate professor of language, literacy, and culture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
KATHY SHORT (KS I'm Kathy Short and I'm a professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies at the University of Arizona, and director of Worlds of Words, a center of global literacies and literatures.
STEPHANIE TOLIVER (ST) Hi everyone, I'm Stephanie Renee Tolliver I'm an assistant professor of literacy and secondary humanities at the University of Colorado Boulder.
VYA How about we start off by situating our work within this analytical framework?
MJ] So, my work is...I'm the lead author of Critical Multicultural Analysis of Multicultural Children's Literature: Mirrors, Windows, and Doors, and I should also let listeners know that I'm the faculty director of the Five College Doors to the World project, which is an online resource on multicultural and global children's literature.
