Do you want to transform your organization into a learning organization that embodies an effective learning culture? In his recent work, Workplace Learning: How to Build a Culture of Continuous Employee Development, Nigel Paine meticulously guides readers through the topic of organizational learning culture. The author makes a strong case for creating a learning culture in all organizations that is effective and sustainable. He aims to help people ‘take the critical first steps in building a learning culture in their workplace, and in so doing, create a sustainable model for change and transformation now and into the future’ (Paine, 2019, p. 7). Paine gives his primary audience, leaders and managers guiding principles and best practices of pioneering organizations. He also satisfies scholars interested in learning about concepts, such as organizational learning culture or a learning organization, as he reviews both historical and recent conceptualization of the topic, for instance, Peter Senge’s Fifth Discipline and Bob Garratt’s Learning Organization.
Paine starts his work by asking three simple questions: ‘Does such a thing as a learning culture exist? If it does exist, can you define it?
